Causes
Trauma, Sleeping Wrong, Looking down a lot (head forward posture), Using Computer / Cell Phone (text neck), Car Accidents, Birth Process
What
Headaches, Sinus Problems, Allergies, Dizziness, Vertigo, TMJ, Eye Pain, Tinnitus
These are all problems that can be associated with misalignments of the upper cervical vertebra as well as issues with the TMJ (Jaw joint). Misalignments of the upper neck, also called subluxations, affect the nerves that come from the brain between these vertebra, and to go (innervate) the head and the face; controlling the sinuses. Pressure on these nerves from the misaligned vertebra can cause sinus issues and mild to severe headaches. The large majority of dizziness, lightheadedness and vertigo can be linked to subluxations of the upper neck. The Jaw is also involved with severe or chronic headaches and tinnitus (ringing in the ears). If part or all of the vertebral joint is not moving correctly, then nutrients may not be able to get into the joint surfaces allowing wastes to build up which leads to destructive osteoarthritis.
Treatment We Offer
Chiropractic – our doctors can specifically re-align the vertebra of the upper neck as well as the misalignments of the jaw to treat the cause of headaches, sinus pressure and dizziness. Sometimes work on the surrounding muscles can add to a more permanent correction of the problem. Traction may also be used to relieve tension and take pressure off affected nerves.
Regenerative/Restorative Services – Trigger Point therapy has been shown to be highly affective in relieving headaches, it can also help chiropractic adjustments to hold longer
Intranasal ‘TX 360’ injections have proven to help with chronic and severe migraines
Therapeutic Massage – Specific myofascial massage can alleviate headaches, sinus issues and dizziness by releasing adhesions or scar tissue in the affected muscles of the neck, jaw and face.
