What

Low Back Pain, Leg pain or tingling, Hip Pain, Knee Pain, Ankle/Foot pain or tingling, Sciatica, Limping, Disc pain; Herniated/Ruptured discs, Scoliosis.

These are all problems that can be associated with misalignments of the Lower Back (Lumbar) vertebra as well as issues with the hips and legs. Misalignments of the Lower Back, also called subluxations, affect the nerves that come from the brain between these vertebra, and go to (innervate) the legs, including the hips, knees, feet and toes. Pressure on these nerves from the misaligned vertebra can cause pain, tingling or numbness down the legs all the way to the toes in severe cases. If part or all of the vertebral joint is not moving correctly, then nutrients may not be able to get into the joint surfaces allowing wastes to build up which leads to destructive osteoarthritis. Disc issues may also occur secondarily to the lumbar joint problems as the discs are a cushion between the bones. Discs cannot slip or slide, they can bulge with a misaligned vertebra, but as the joints degenerate so can the disc. As the disc dries outs (dessicates) it can tear, rupture or herniate and can cause a lot of nerve pain.

Treatment We Offer

Chiropractic – With many different treatments our doctors can specifically re-align the vertebra of the low back to treat the cause of back pain, sciatica and other leg pain and weakness. Sometimes muscle work on the surrounding muscles can add to a more permanent correction of the problem. Our Decompression Therapy may also be used to relieve disc issues taking pressure off affected nerves. Our doctors are also well versed in rehabilitative exercises and teach ways to be ergonomic to help the problem at home and, once heal, avoid it from returning.

Restorative/Regenerative Services – There are several different natural treatments that our Nurse Practitioner uses to restore normal joint mobility and positive affect the arthritis of the joint structures. Regenerative therapies have shown to reduce arthritis and decrease inflammation in the lumbar region, and surrounding structures.

Trigger Point therapy had been shown to be highly effective in relieving low back pain, pelvic or S/I pain and hip pain, it can also help chiropractic adjustments to hold longer

Therapeutic Massage – Specific myofascial massage can alleviate Low Back pain, S/I Pain and Hip pain by releasing adhesions or scar tissue in the affected muscles of the neck, jaw and face.

Rehab – Electric Stimulation, cryotherapy, traction and decompression can help with muscle and disc problems in the Lower Back.
