What

Shoulders can become misaligned, just like vertebra which leads to the joint not functioning properly. If one or more of the joints of the shoulder is jammed or not moving correctly, then nutrients may not be able to get into the joint surfaces allowing wastes to build up which leads to destructive osteoarthritis. This can occur in either of the joints of the shoulder, the glenohumeral joint [G/H] (the main ball-and-socket joint), the A/C joint (acromial-clavicular joint – far end of the collar bone) or the S/C joint (sterno-clavicular joint – near end of the collar bone). Trauma to the shoulder can cause the part or all of the rotator cuff to tear and become painful; the rotator cuff is the tendinous ends of the 4 main muscles of the shoulder. The G/H joint can become misaligned and become painful; this can occur in the A/C joints and the S/C joint as well. The shoulder blade also moves and can be jammed outwards severely limiting the movement of the shoulder; a very common cause of frozen shoulder syndrome.
